Religious Education
Keeping the faith active and informed is important to the spiritual life of the parish. Continuing religious education programs are offered throughout the year. Announcement of special sessions and opportunities are published in the parish bulletin.
Bread of Life Eucharistic Adoration Program
Holy Family has been blessed with Eucharistic Adoration since 1998. Adoration has been a thriving and integral part of our community. Beginning in August 2019, our Eucharistic Adoration program changed from Perpetual Adoration in our Adoration Chapel (in the Parish Center) to Eucharistic Adoration (in our church) on Wednesdays and First Fridays after the 7:00 am Mass until our 5:30 pm Mass. Numerous individuals have signed up for a specific hour on these days. The church is open during these times for scheduled and unscheduled visits with our Eucharistic Lord.
Family Formation
Family Formation, which was first introduced at Holy Family in 2006, is an innovative religious education program for children from preschool through sixth grade. Based on the principle that “Parents are the primary educators in the faith,” the program revolves around a weekly family gathering and home lesson (provided to each family) as well as a monthly gathering at the parish. Following the three–year liturgical cycle, the program is driven by Scripture and references the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Evening Adult Studies
Throughout the year groups meet in the St. Francis Room or in the church where participants study selected topics or programs to learn more about the Catholic faith and to meet and socialize with new people. For times of meeting please contact us.
Prayer Circle
The Prayer Circle is a group of parishioners praying for the various needs of the parish and the community. Parishioners are invited to call the coordinator with a prayer intention. The coordinator will then disseminate that prayer request to other members of the group. They all individually offer prayers for the intention. Please contact us If you have a prayer request.
RCIA/RCIC
Through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), the Catholic Church shares the Faith with new members. RCIA is the normal process by which adults, regardless of their background, enter and join the Catholic Church. RCIA meets each week on Tuesday evening beginning in September; Sacraments of Initiation are celebrated at the Easter Vigil. Please note that coming to the sessions does not obligate an individual to join the Church at Easter. There is a parallel program (RCIC) that is offered for children.
Totus Tuus
Totus Tuus, a Latin phrase meaning “totally yours,” was the motto of Blessed Pope John Paul II. Taken from St. Louis de Montfort’s work, True Devotion to Mary, it signifies our desire to give ourselves entirely to Jesus Christ through Mary. It also expresses our effort to give all that we have to every young person we encounter.
Totus Tuus seeks to inspire in young people a true longing for holiness, a deep desire for daily conversion, and an openness to their vocation by challenging them to give themselves entirely to Jesus Christ through Mary, and by continually strengthening their prayer lives in imitation of Her.
The Totus Tuus summer catechetical program is a week-long “parish mission” for Catholic youth in grades one through 12. It is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship.
Totus Tuus provides an environment in which the Eucharist is central to the day. Prayer provides the structure, but the Mass is truly the “source and summit” of the daily schedule.
Totus Tuus inspires young people to go to Jesus Christ through Mary by meditating on the mysteries of the rosary.
Totus Tuus instructs young people in the basic tenets of the Catholic faith to cultivate both a firm intellectual grounding and a solid personal relationship with Christ.
Totus Tuus encourages young people to begin discerning God’s call in their life to be married, a priest, a religious, or single.
Totus Tuus demonstrates that one can be a faithful, practicing Catholic and still have fun!
